2004 EN-CN Project Why is it so difficult to learn a new language? EN-CN's central idea was to createa new system combining English and Chinese characters. EN-CN language is a visual system. I selected 32 words from 50.000 Chinese characters and I tried to merge them with the English words that have the same meaning. After developing my project I went to public spaces and hung some posters describing the new language system. I also put my dictionary in the city library and in several bookshops around Rotterdam. Back in Taiwan I did a workshop in a kindergarten school where the teacher taught my new character set to young children.
